Met bigs ‘smoking’ mad
BOARD members and donors to the Met are up in arms about all the celebs smoking and taking selfies in the bathroom during Monday’s glam Met Gala. One told us, “As a donor to the Met, I was so insulted to see all these ‘celebrities’ smoking and taking selfies of themselves in the bathroom. Mostly, it’s disrespectful to the art collection, which needs to be kept 100 percent smoke-free. I would honestly like to see these people fined by the city.” Another source tells us that one buttoned-up female board member was horrified when she went into the ladies’ loo and found a host of celebs cavorting around inside, including Sean “Diddy” Combs, Paris Jackson, Kim Kardashian and Kendall and Kylie Jenner, who took an epic selfie. Behati Prinsloo, Frances Bean Cobain, Marc Jacobs and Bella Hadid were also photographed puffing on cigarettes in the loo, despite New York’s law against smoking in public buildings. Maison Valentino posted a video on Instagram of stars including Elle Fanning and Rita Ora hanging out in the bathroom, with the title, “Real VIP room!!!” The source said of the shocked board member, “Some of the celebs were smoking, some were vaping, most of them were lounging around like they were in their own living room so it made it impossible to get into the stalls. I mean, when you really need to go to the bathroom, you shouldn’t have to push P. Diddy out of the way to pee. The board member stormed right out and complained right away to Gala host Anna Wintour’s team. It is so disrespectful to the museum.” Another fashion source huffed of this year’s gala: “Now it’s all thugs and drugs,” adding that besides the ciggies, some celebs were “vaping” with something more fragrant than tobacco. Reps didn’t get back to us.
