CHURCH OF ‘OH, GOD!’
‘Worship house’ was sex club: officials
Tennessee authorities are moving to cast out a raunchy sex club that police say is masquerading as a church.
The Social Club was exposed by two inspectors who went undercover March 25 and “observed patrons openly engaging in sexual conduct and intercourse,” according to a complaint filed by Nashville officials last week.
Probers Christine Gibson and Bill Earles paid $40 to gain access into the club’s secret sex chamber, and once inside made their way through a dozen rooms with either a bed or a lounge chair where couples and groups got frisky as others watched, according to court documents.
In one instance, a couple, who went by “Val” and “Steve” asked the inspectors to photograph them as Val gave Steve oral pleasure inside the “Choir Room,” according to the surveillance activity report.
By the time Gibson and Earles left the club at around 11:45 p.m., about 100 people were packed inside.
The Social Club had previously been known as a swinger’s sanctuary at a different Nashville location, and owners announced the move to its current location in 2015.
But since that property sits too close to a school, and was on a plot where only office space was allowed, the club owners decided to get permits for a house of worship — which would be allowed, according to reports. And the owners took a vow of chastity, promising that no sex would take place inside, saying it would be simply a “members only” facility.
The city said the club — owned by Freedom 4 All Inc. — should be shuttered for “permitting acts of lewd conduct” because it’s a “public nuisance.”
A lawyer for the club told Nashville’s NewsChannel 5 he hadn’t yet had time to read the full complaint but “continued to maintain that the business is a church.”
Zoning honcho Bill Herbert said he was shocked by the investigators’ discoveries. “Maybe I’m naive. I did not expect it to be as graphic,” he said.
Herbert told the station it wasn’t until recently that the city was informed of the club’s increased latenight activity and blatant advertising for “Naughty Nights” every second Saturday of the month.
