More than 50 percent of New York City residents want Gov. Cuomo to run for president in 2020, a new poll shows.
Mayor de Blasio, though, should probably think twice about throwing his hat into the ring — nearly 60 percent of city residents said they would not want him to be a candidate.
“The opinion toward de Blasio is far less favorable than it is toward the governor,” Baruch College pollster Doug Muzzio told NY1 in response to a joint poll they conducted recently.
The results, which were released Tuesday night, showed strong support for the governor — including a 58 percent approval rating.
Asked if they would want to see Cuomo run in 2020, a resounding 56 percent of those questioned said they would.
De Blasio, meanwhile, is beingg urged to stay home — with 58 per-cent of residents saying theyy wouldn’t want to see him on thehe ballot in 2020.
