Mom demands Oculus-death vid
The mother of the woman who fell to her death at the Oculus transit hub in the World Trade Center is considering a wrongful-death lawsuit against the Port Authority, but first needs a video of the incident, which the agency refuses to release, according to court papers.
“I believe that there exists a good and meritorious cause of action in negligence. However, it is necessary for our experts to review and evaluate the video recording prior to instituting suit,” Maria Santos’ attorney, John Tumelty, says in the new Manhattan Supreme Court filing.
Santos’ daughter Jennifer Santos, 29, fell 30 feet from an escalator in February after a night out with her twin sister.
The PA, which owns the WTC, declined to comment, but has cited the ongoing investigation in explaining why it cannot release the video.
