Now, nonstop objecting lawyer shuts up

- Kevin Fasick and Lia Eustachewich

A de Blasio administration lawyer couldn’t keep quiet during a routine deposition — objecting more than 600 times — but she was virtually speechless Tuesday when The Post asked about her antics.

Amatullah Booth, a senior assistant corporation coun- sel for the city’s Law Department, dodged a reporter’s questions about the nearly-nonstop objections.

Booth was hit with sanctions Friday for objecting to nearly every question in an eight-hour 2016 deposition of an NYPD cop inaa wrong ful-arrest lawsuit. A Brooklyn federal court judge ordered the city to pay attorneys’ fees and deposition costs — which could exceed $10,000. The judge also accused Booth of feeding answers to the witness, Police Officer John Essie.

Plaintiff Hector Cordero sued Essig, the city and others after his 2014 bust outside a Brooklyn bodega on drug-dealing charges that were ultimately dropped. Booth is staying on the case post-sanctions but will have a supervisor watching.
