‘TRAGIC PLANE’ PIECES

Bermuda Triangle clues

- By LIA EUSTACHEWICH

Broken pieces of a seat and a red “remove before flight” tag were among the debris recovered belonging to the plane that mysteriously vanished in the Bermuda Triangle as the search entered its third day Wednesday.

Officials from the Coast Guard’s Miami-based 7th District said the debris was shipped off to the mechanic who last worked on the MU-2B plane, which went missing Monday with Tribeca-based CEO Jennifer Blumin (above left), her two young sons and her pilot boyfriend Nathan Ulrich aboard.

The mechanic confirmed the debris (above right), which the Coast Guard tweeted in a photo Wednesday morning, was from an MU-2B model aircraft — but couldn’t confirm whether it came from the actual plane that disappeared. “We’re putting two and two together and assuming that it is, unless we get more information,” Coast Guard spokesman Luke Clayton told The Post.

Blumin, Ulrich and her 4- and 3year-old sons had just spent Mother’s Day in Puerto Rico and were flying to Florida in the twinengine turbo prop when it suddenly disappeared from the radar around 2:10 p.m. Monday.

Ulrich, 52, of New Hampshire, is a former Coast Guard auxiliarist and the ex-husband of actress Rae Dawn Chong.

The plane was flying at 24,000 feet and about 345 mph when it went missing about 37 miles east of the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas. It was scheduled to land for refueling in Titusville, Fla., at 2:44 p.m., aviation records showed.

So far, the Coast Guard has combed more than 8,200 square miles surrounding the Bahamas, and crews have been searching day and night since the plane went missing.

“Certainly, as time goes on, that’s a factor in survivability and factored into our search,” said Coast Guard spokesman Eric Woodall. “We’re a search and rescue agency, so we’re still out there looking for survivors.”

Blumin, 40, is the head of Skylight Studios, which creates glamorous event spaces for the film and fashion industries.
