Gisele: Brady had concussion last season

Gisele Bündchen is worried for her husband’s future after football, and said Tom Brady had a concussion last season that went unreported. The NFL, however, has a simple response: Nothing to see here.

Brady’s wife told “CBS This Morning” on Wednesday the superstar Patri - ots quarterback suffered a head injury last season. The Brazilian supermodel’s bombshell claim led the league and NFL Players Association to look into the matter — the Patriots could fa ce discipline fo r not reporting an injury — and they said it had no merit.

Brady only appeared on the Patriots’ injury report for knee and thigh issues toward the end of the 2016 regular season. Brady concluded the season by directing a historic comeback for his fifth Super Bowl title.

“He had a concussion last year,” Bündchen said when Charlie Rose asked about Brady’s future. “He had pretty much concussions every, I mean we don’t talk about, but he does have concussions. I don’t think it’s a healthy thing for a body to go through that kind of aggression all the time. That can’t be healthy for you.”

The NFL refuted the claim, but also said it would continue to look into the matter.

“We have reviewed all reports relating to Tom Brady from the unaffiliated neurotrauma consultants and certified trainer spotters who worked at Patriots’ home and away 2016 games as well as club injury reports that were sent to the league off ice,” the league said in a statement. “There are no records that indicate that Mr. Brady suffered a head injury or concussion, or exhibited or complained of concussion symptoms.

“Today we have been in contact with the NFLPA, and will work together to gather more information from the club’s medical staff and Mr. Brady.”
