STONEY THE TIGER
Woods didn’t even know what state he was in
Tiger Woods thought he was in California, not Florida, and was slumped over the wheel in a damaged car at 3 a.m., a police report says.
Tiger Woods was a “droopy’’ disheveled mess in a bashed-up Benz when he was busted for DUI in Florida over the weekend — so strung out on prescription meds that he wasn’t sure what state he was in, records show.
The superstar golfer thought he was in “LA,’’ repeatedly dozed off in front of cops and at one point took off his shoes and put them under thehe front bumbumper of a police cruiser, officers said.
Woods was found snoozing behind the wheel of his black 2015 Mercedes-Benz in the right lane of a road in Jupiter, Fla., around 2 a.m. Sunday. His phone was in his lap, and his car’s engine was still running right blinker flashing.
The luxury ride had two flat tires on the driver’s side and “minor damage to both respective rims,” the police report says.
“There was also minor damage to the front driver’s-side bumper and rear bumper, and the passenger rear tail light appeared to be out,” the document states.
When a cop woke him up, the 41-year-old Woods was “very droopy’’ and had “extremely slow and slurred speech,” according to the report.
He repeatedly fell asleep as one officer watching him waited and for backup units to arrive, the records show.
When first asked where he was coming from, Woods told the cops, “LA,’’ the report says.
The cops then explained that they meant that night, and Woods repeated, “LA,’’ adding that he was “on his way down to Orange County.” The police report says, “It should be noted that Orange County California is to the south of LA California.’’
Woods later admitted he had “no idea” where he was headed at the time, telling a cop that he “just likes to drive,” an officer wrote in his report. He released a statement hours later saying he “didn’t realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly.”
He failed a field sobriety test and was “swaying back and forth” as he tried to do simple tasks such as touch his nose.
When asked if he understood what the alphabet test meant, he bizarrely mumbled: “Yes, recite entire national anthem backwards.”
Woods was arrested and blew .000 twice on a Breathalyzer after being taken to a testing facility.
The report noted Woods was taking medication for “four left knee surgeries, four Achilles.”
It lists four medications — “Soloxer,” Vicodin, Torix and Vioxx — but police didn’t specify when he was taking them.
Torix and Vioxx are anti-inflammatory drugs marketed to treat pain and reduce inflammation, although the latter hasn’t been on the US market for at least a decade, and Woods said he hadn’t taken it this year. Vicodin is a pain reliever. “Soloxer” is not a drug identified by the DEA and may have been a misprint.
The police records also mention that Woods has a concealed weapon license but doesn’t list any weapons in the car at the time.
Tiger Woods’ stylist girlfriend, Kristin Smith, 33, pleaded for privacy Tuesday, saying in a statement that she’s been “bombarded by the press.”
Golf legend Jack Nicklaus said he felt bad for Woods, who “needs our help.”
