Duo slain execution-style in SUV near club
A gunman fired 13 bullets early Friday, killing a couple sitting in an SUV parked outside a Brooklyn nightclub, according to police.
Devon Hannibal, 27, of Brooklyn, who police believe was the target, died along with Christina Stubbs, of Florida, who was hit by a bullet meant for her pal, said Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce.
Police responding to 865 Cleveland St. in East New York at about 4:45 a.m. found the two bodies inside a red Dodge Durango parked near the Linden Hall club.
They had attended a “Mesh, Whips and Chains” party celebration at the club, authorities said.
Hannibal was struck by several bullets; Stubbs by one, Boyce said.
The gunman was described as a black man in his 20s wearing a white shirt and red shorts. Police later found the shorts in a subway underpass a block from the scene.
No arrests have been made and a motive wasn’t known, cops said.
Michael Nelson, 55, a bus driver who lives nearby, was awakened by the shots from the 9 mm handgun.
“It sounded like it was near my window so I didn’t look out,” he said. “It was like someone kept on shooting with no breaks. Whoever it was emptied that gun, he wanted someone dead.”
Donna Llamos, a security worker who was in bed when she heard the shots, said, “It sounded like a war zone.”
