Brienne of Tarth and Jaime Lannister Lan dish on Season 7

BLOND monolith Gwendoline Christie, who plays the stalwart Brienne, guardian of Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau — the strapping Jaime Lannister — were paired together on HBO’s “Game of Thrones” press day at the Montage hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif. Throughout the day, loud cackles (hers) could be heard from behind the door where she entertained one reporter after another. Even though ominous clouds hover over the seven kingdoms and winter advances, Christie, 38, and CosterWaldau, 46, seemed very jovial, maybe because their characters have survived another season. What is Brienne of Tarth going to do to save Sansa Stark from the magnificent clutches of Petyr Baelish (Aidan Gillen)?

This season gives rise to the question of what is the right thing to do. Is the right thing to do to be blindly loyal [to Sansa] or is it better to take the law into one’s own hands? It’s about Brienne developing independent thought, rather than operating from a base of what it means to be a knight. NCW: You lost me. How is she going to protect her? GC: Don’t touch me.

What was Jaime thinking when he saw Cersei sitting on the Iron Throne?
