TRAINING DAY

- —BrianCostello

ALL LINED UP

The defensive line had a nice practice on the first day with pads. Leonard Williams, Muhammad Wilkerson and Sheldon Richardson all made plays in the backfield and harassed the quarterbacks.

‘O’ NO!

The flip side of the defensive line having a big day is the offensive line struggling. The holes were not very big for the running backs and the quarterbacks had people in their faces constantly.

CAUGHT MY EYE

Rookie outside linebacker Dylan Donahue worked with the starting defense instead of Lorenzo Mauldin on Monday. Jets coach Todd Bowles said they are just rotating players there, but Donahue seems to be impressing the coaches.

QB DERBY

The practice was filled with short passes, so it was hard to read too much into it. Offensive coordinator John Morton pulled

Christian Hackenberg (9-of-15, 22 reps) from one 7-on-7 drill, unhappy with his reads. Josh McCown (11-of-16, 1 sack, 22 reps) missed several open receivers. Bryce Petty (4-of-8, 10 reps) is clearly No. 3 in the pecking order.

MEDICAL REPORT RB Matt Forte tweaked his hamstring and sat out team drills. WR Robby Anderson also suffered an injury that Bowles described as a tweak, but did not say which body part. Rookie WRs ArDarius Stewart and Chad Hansen practiced fully for the first time.
