GOING TUTS UP!

Jailed for Egyptian nude pix

- By YARON STEINBUCH

This pyramid scheme landed a nude model in an Egyptian jail.

Marisa Papen found herself in hot water after she was caught being photographed at Egypt’s ancient landmarks, Central European News reported.

“The last two years, I have walked wild and free in at least 50 countries. Rarely do I end up in precarious situations, until April this year in Egypt,” said the Belgian beauty, who specializes in nudes.

Joined by Aussie fotog Jesse Walker, Papen began her risqué shoot in Giza, home of the pyramids, after bribing a guard there. Then two officials showed up. “We tried to explain to them that we were making art with the highest respect for Egyptian culture, but they could not see a connection between nudity and art,” Papen told CEN. “In their eyes, it was porn, or something like that.”

But Papen and Walker were able to continue their shoot after bribing the two men with $20.

They next went to the Karnak temple complex in Luxor, where Papen hoped to pose “making pirouettes in Cleopatra’s footprints.”

But they were caught and hauled before police. Papen said she silently directed Walker to delete the photos — “otherwise, we would be screwed, big time.”

Authorities strip-searched Papen, and despite finding nothing incriminating, threw the two in jail.

“The first cell we encountered was packed with at least 20 men. Some were passed out on the floor, some were squeezing their hands through the rails, some were bleeding and yelling,” she recalled.

After several hours, the two were brought before a judge who,, she said, let them off and “told us never to do something so foolishly shameful ever again.”

Walker later recovered the deleted photos.

“I do think we created something Cleopatra would have been proud of,” Papen said.
