Celeb kids make their runway debuts at NYFW
CELEBRITY spawn are taking over Fashion Week.
Kendall Jenner isn’t the only beauty with a famous last name ruling the runways. Among the familial faces making their debuts this season are Cindy Crawford’s daughter, Kaia Gerber, 16, who hit the catwalk for Alexander Wang and Calvin Klein, and son Presley Gerber, 18, who walked in Zadig & Voltaire. Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg’s son Cordell Broadus, 20, and Pamela Anderson’s kid Brandon Lee, 21, strutted their stuff for streetwear designer Philipp Plein.
On Monday, Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin’s daughter, Amelia Hamlin, made her New York Fashion Week debut by opening and closing Dennis Basso’s show in glamorous gowns worthy of the gilded room at the Plaza Hotel, where it was held.
“I blacked out and can’t remember anything,” Amelia, 16, tells The Post backstage after her walk. “But it wasas such an amazing feeling.”
Her proud parents and sister, Deli-lilah, 19, who is also a model, sat frontnt row to show their support.
“I brought Amelia to [Dennis’] fashion show when she was 13 yearsrs old, and it made her cry, and she said she wanted to be a model,” Rinna tells The Post. Her father was awestruck. “I’m a little bit choked up right now, so I don’t really have the words to describe it,” he says.
But it wasn’t all smooth sailing for Amelia, signed to IMG, who spentent the past few days scurrying aroundd town attending casting calls. To prepare for her first show, she avoidedded wearing heels and declined party invitations the day before.
“New York Fashion Week’s casting process was hard,” Amelia says. “I had thoughts about how I don’t know if this is what I wanna do.”
But now, surrounded by her friends and family, she wouldn’t have it any other way.
“Once you do book a show, I realized, ‘What was I saying?’ ” she says with tears in her eyes. “All that hard work does pay off.”
But unlike some other celeb kids who’ve become style muses, Amelia plans to stay in school and go to college like Delilah, who is attending NYU in the spring.
“We definitely encourage our girls to continue their education,” Rinna says. “It’s important — if you can model and go to school, it gives you so much more in your life.”
