Hopeless Stitches remains hopeful

- stitches@nypost.com

“You know I’m just a fool who’s willing. To sit around and wait for you. But baby can’t you see there’s nothing else for me to do. I’m hopelessly devoted to you.”

Subway riders got an early preview of what’s in store for their beloved Knickerbockers this year with FOX Sports 1 placing negative ads on the rails that put things in perspective: The word “Hopeless,” front and center with Tim Hardaway Jr. and Joakim Noah as a backdrop. A huge reminder that your devotion, plus $2.75, will get you home. Once inside, devotees were given seating options. The Blame Melo, Blame Phil and Blame Dolan sections were all well-attended, while the Blame Stitches area was vacant. FS1 promises the embarrassing ads will be removed. The Knicks are 500-1 to win the NBA title. Stand clear of the closing doors.

Game 1 for the Bosox and Astros in Houston. Believe this will be a long series featuring teams that will prove tough outs. Justin Verlander has been everything the ’Stros could have hoped for since arriving via trade and rates the nod over hot/cold “K” artist Chris Sale. Twenty units on Houston.

Nothing easy. Both Zack Greinke and Jon Gray had their cages rattled early. Thirty hits and 14 pitchers later, the D’backs had outlasted the Rockies, 11-8. The win lowers the deficit to minus 587 holzmans.
