End of a Bromance

A t least Mayor de Blasio is learning: City Hall greeted Thursday’s news about his buddy Louis C.K. with demands that the comedian explain himself.

That’s far better than de Blasio’s reaction to word of then-Speaker Shelly Silver’s indictment for corruption, when the mayor called him “a man of integrity.”

On Friday, C.K. finally owned up to the truth and apologized to all of the women exposed to his abusive conduct. De Blasio, by contrast, has never owned up to his shady pay-to-play fund-raising, instead taking the prosecutors’ decision to condemn but not indict him as full vindication.

Then again, the mayor wasn’t asking any questions about his comedian buddy before The New York Times exposé dropped.

For the record, the de Blasio-C.K. bro- mance has gone on for years. The mayor honored his pal with a “Made in NY Award” in November 2014 and gave him a major role in his “rebuttal” at the March 2015 Inner Circle show.

Of course, it was only that May that Gawker explicitly outed the comedian’s perverted behavior.

Either the mayor and his minions didn’t read the notorious gossip site, or didn’t care: Louis C.K. proceeded to publicly “shadow” de Blasio at various public events — all clearly by arrangement with City Hall.

Oh, and he held two fund-raisers for de Blasio last year.

Then again, the mayor plainly has no standards when it comes to anyone who’ll help him get campaign cash.
