Fluker declares determination to play through pain

- By PAUL SCHWARTZ

D.J. Flu ker was clearly hurting Sunday as he banged up a knee and missed seven snaps in the second half of a 31-21 loss to the 49ers. Fluker did not look nimble leaving the locker room, but on Wednesday he was able to practice on a limited basis.

“The best thing for me is to keep on fighting. I’m not gonna let my teammates down,’’ Fluker said. “That’s how I see it. I’m going to give everything I got until they pull me out.’’

Fluker has brought more toughness to the offensive line since he was named the starting right guard.

“If you can’t play through pain, I don’t know why you play this game,’’ he said.

To fill spots on the roster, the Giants this week signed two veterans, OL John Greco and LB Akeem Ayers.

“At this point in the season, you take the best available players out there who can come in and contribute,’’ coach Ben McAdoo said. “There’s a balance t here between youth and experience, especially when they have a chance to get up on game day. Sometimes, it’ s better to go with a little bit of experience who have some pro snaps under their belt.’’ WR Odel l Beck ha m Jr. was getting around the locker room briskly Wednesday, buzzing around on a scooter, with his left leg still not weight-bearing following ankle surgery.

“I’m doing great, hope you all are doing well,’’ he said as he rolled out.

It is now official, at least according to odds maker Bovada: The Giants are off the board as far as the odds of winning the Super Bowl. They were 1000-1 before the loss to the 49ers. The Giants, Browns and 49ers are the only three teams in the league off the board.

It looks like the Giants will go against the firstplace Chiefs without their two best linemen. RT Justin

Pugh is out and has been shut down for a while after aggravating a back injury, and DT Damon “Snacks’’

Harrison was nowhere to be seen on the practice field Wednesday after he was forced out of the game against the 49 ersw it ha sprained ankle. … DE Jason

Pierre-Paul (knee) is a new addition to this week’s injury report, as is rookie D TD al

vin Tom lin son( ankle ). Both were limited in practice. … The Giants cannot get their linebackers healthy.

B.J. Goodson (high ankle sprain) rode the bike during practice, as did Kelvin

Sheppard, who was signed last week, started at middle linebacker against the 49ers and left that game with a strained groin. Fellow LB

Devon Kennard has a quad injury and was limited.
