Appy ending for Wag dog

A pooch that was lost by the “Uber of dog-walking” was found safe Sunday after a nearly two-week search.

Teddy, a 4-year-old black Jindo mix, turned up at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden after the company behind the popular Wag app hired a trapper to lure the lost pooch into a cage.

“She’s good!” said Teddy’s owner, Kane Giblin. “Her paws are a little beat up, and she has a tick and has lost a little weight, but she’s doing all right.”

The dog, who was lost on a Wag walk on Nov. 30 in Prospect Park, was snared at around 7:30 a.m.

Giblin said a Botanic Garden employee who had been on the lookout for the pup sent her a text early Sunday morning alerting her that Teddy had wandered into a “trap” set up by a trapper hired by the company.

The trapper had baited the cage with hot dogs and liquid-smoke flavoring.

“We set a trap at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and this morning we trapped a little bear!” Giblin wrote on Instagram with a photo of the dog in the cage.

“Teddy is home in my bed relaxing right now, she’s so happy to be home! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE for all of your help!”

Teddy’s escape wasn’t the first time a pooch got loose while on a walk with Wag, a service that connects own- ers with dog handlers.

Buddy, a beagle-Lab mix, escaped in September while his owners were on vacation.

And Ducky, a Brooklyn Chihuahua, was lost in 2015 and fatally struck by a car.

While Giblin says she appreciates Wag’s efforts in finding Teddy, she is no longer wants to use the service.

“I felt like this situation shouldn’t have happened,” she said. “They need to take better care to train their employees. If the bandannas they put on the dogs had a GPS tracker in them, this whole thing could have been avoided.”

A Wag spokeswoman said, “We are delighted that Teddy is back home with [her] owner, safe and in good health.”
