Weird BUT true

Even great writers occasionally get a bad review.

It happened to famed British novelist Ian McEwan after his son was assigned to write an essay on one of his dad’s books a while back.

McEwan, who recently recounted the embarrassing tale, agreed to help son Greg with his homework — and gave him a “tutorial’’ with suggestions on “what to consider’’ in the essay.

The two got a C+ for their joint effort.

Craig Manning, 47, and his 22-year-old daughter, Juliana, both graduated from Philadelphia’s Temple University the same day.

Craig, who was born on Staten Island, got his BA in film and media; his daughter majored in linguistics and creative writing.

Forget “Jaws” — these sharks are into jazz.

The birdbrain, in Brighton, England, caught its reflection in a polished, shiny Lexus.

It apparently surmised that it was looking at a rival seagull about to attack.

So it pecked and dented up the car.

There was plenty of pastry trouble a’bruin in New Jersey.

A hungry bear with a sweet tooth attacked a Honda parked at the Rockaway Township home of a bakery owner.

Christine Allen had crafted two dozen cupcakes for a special order and loaded them in her SUV the night before the delivery.

She awoke to sounds of crunching metal and broken glass. Soon she saw the bear steal away with his vanilla, chocolate and strawberry loot.
