Albany’s Sour Lemons: Closing a Kid’s Stand
A 7-year-old boy, engaging in the economy by selling lemonade, was set upon by state bureaucrats because vendors at the Saratoga County Fair felt he was undercutting their profits (“Cuomo’s Lemonade Stand,” Editorial, Aug. 1).

All of us should encourage our young people to take the initiative of learning the value of a dollar and how to earn it. Lawrence A. Natale Staten Island

If only Cuomo had run the Buffalo Billion scam as honestly. Tommy Dejulio New Rochelle

Perhaps if there is enough of an outcry, the county fair can replace them with more kidfriendly vendors in the future. Tucker Andersen Manhattan
Cuomo continues his rendition of Caesar the merciful as he lords over his massive, incoherent bureaucracy and spares one of his constituents. All for some cheap p.r..
Perhaps he could spare us and just make sure that lemonade stands never need a permit. Scott Vankuren Middleburg
Our grandstanding governor fooled nobody by dressing down his own Department of Health for attempting to squeeze a $30 permit fee from a kid entrepreneur.
Aside from this one outlandish David vs. Goliath episode, when has Cuomo ever moved a finger to cut down the river of red tape that makes opening and maintaining a business in this state such a nerve-wracking experience? James Hyland Beechhurst
It’s great that the governor stepped in to help Mulvaney run his lemonade stand. Now, let’s get New York City up and running again.
He should take his blinders off and look around. We need help. Alfred Bonnabel Manhattan
