New Yorkers continue to shower North Carolina mom Shelcie Holbert with love.
Holbert unexpectedly delivered her baby 16 weeks early in June while on a business trip to Manhattan.
Little Rosalie Grace is getting stronger every day, but she will likely have to stay in the hospital for at least three months, through September.
An army of Upper West Side moms, who read about Holbert’s story on Facebook, reached out to provide lodging and meals for the 23-year-old mom and her husband, Jacob Wallace.
After The Post featured the story last week, scores of additional New Yorkers joined the welcome wagon.
A family that will be out of town in August is letting Holbert stay in their apartment near Mount Sinai West Hospital, where Rosalie is in the neonatal intensive-care unit.
A couple who divide their time between New York and the West Coast also said their apartment was available.
The company that operates the trendy by Chloe restaurants, along with The Sosta and DEZ, served up an offer of free meals.
After Wallace returned home to North Carolina last week to start a new job, one mom donated her American Airlines frequent flier miles to bring Holbert’s grandmother to New York City.
Donations to a GoFundMe page (https:// www.gofundme.com/babyrosalie-shelcie-amp-jacob) more than doubled and were at $23,000 by yesterday. Many donors shared words of encouragement with the family.
Holbert was floored by New Yorkers’ generosity and kindness.
“There’s not just a few kind people, there’s so many kind people,” Holbert told The Post. “There’s more good people than bad people.”
