I think Michael Goodwin was being kind in calling the Senate hearing for Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court a “circus” (“Waging a losing battle . . . again,” Sept. 5)
The Democrats were acting like children in a classroom. They looked stupid.
The constant interruptions of Sen. Chuck Grassley by Sens. Cory Booker, Richard Blumenthal and Kamala Harris and their cohorts only proves that the Democrats can’t get over the election of President Trump. That’s really what all this farce was about.
The Democrats are going into the 2018 elections with no agenda — except to disrupt the current administration. They look like fools, and the people know it. Richard Ketay Newark, NJ
Goodwin takes Democrats to task for their outspoken opposition to Trump’s nomination of Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, declaring “that’s the way the system works. The winner gets to nominate his choices to fill Supreme Court vacancies.”

From Harris to Booker and so on, all crying about the thousands of documents they claim they were given without enough time to review. Why review the documents when you’re already voting no?
