Doctors tell Jansen to skip trip to Denver

The Dodgers are expected to be without All-Star closer

Kenley Jansen for a key weekend series with the Rockies after a team cardiologi­st recommende­d the right-hander not travel to Denver.

Twice in his career Jansen has experience­d an atrial fibrillati­on episode, more commonly known as an irregular heartbeat, while the Dodgers were in the high altitude of Colorado. The most recent episode happened Aug. 9 before the start of a four-game series at Coors Field, with Jansen calling 911 when an accelerate­d heartbeat would not subside. His heart had to be shocked back into rhythm at a Denver hospital.

Mbappe suspended three matches for red card

Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe has been suspended for three matches after being sent off during a French league game last weekend. The 19-year-old striker received a red card in stoppage time during PSG’s 4-2 win over Nimes.

Sano dodges serious injury, already set to return

Twins third baseman Miguel Sano is hoping to return to the lineup Friday after being carted off the field Tuesday with a left leg injury. X-rays were negative and the former All-Star was diagnosed with a left leg bruise.

Moos said rescheduli­ng the game against Akron for Dec. 1 is an option, or to fill the open date Oct. 27 with a game likely against an FCS team.
