Sooners hold off Army in overtime

Kyler Murray threw a 10yard touchdown pass to CeeDee Lamb in overtime, and Parnell Motley intercepte­d Kelvin Hopkins’ fourth-down pass to help No. 5 Oklahoma (4-0) escape with a 28-21 victory over Army (2-2) on Saturday night in Norman, Okla.

Kenneth Murray had a school-record 28 tackles for the Sooners.

Army had the ball for 44:41 and ran 87 plays to Oklahoma’s 40. The Black Knights rushed 78 times fir 339 yards and three TDs. Kelvin Hopkins Jr. rushed for 102 yards and a score for Army,

Stanford 38, Oregon 31 (OT)

In Eugene, Ore., K.J. Costello threw for 327 yards and three touchdowns, the last a 23-yarder to Colby Parkinson in overtime, and No. 7 Stanford (4-0) rallied for a victory over No. 20 Oregon (3-1).

Old Dominion 49, Va. Tech 35

In Norfolk, Va., Blake LaRussa came off the bench to throw for 495 yards and four touchdowns and Old Dominion (1-3) upset No. 13 Virginia Tech (2-1), in the Hokies’ first game at the cross-state school that restarted its football program in 2009.

Alabama 45, Texas A&M 23

In Tuscaloosa, Ala., Tua Tagovailoa passed for 387 yards and four touchdowns and ran for another to lead No. 1 Alabama (4-0, 2-0 SEC) to a rout of No. 22 Texas A&M(2-2, 0-1).

Georgia 43, Missouri 29

In Columbia, Mo., Jake Fromm threw three touch- down passes and No. 2 Georgia (4-0, 2-0 SEC) had a defensive touchdown and returned a blocked punt for a score to beat Missouri (3-1, 0-1).

Clemson 49, Ga. Tech 21

In Atlanta, freshman Trevor Lawrence took a leading role in Clemson’s quarterbac­k rotation, coming off the bench to throw four touchdown passes as the No. 3 Tigers (4-0, 1-0 ACC) produced their most complete performanc­e of the season in a rout of Georgia Tech (1-3, 0-2).

Texas 31, TCU 16

In Austin, Texas, Sam Ehlinger passed for two touchdowns and ran for a score, all in the second half, and Texas (3-1, 1-0 Big 12) ended a four-game losing streak to No. 17 TCU (2-2, 0-1).

Syracuse 51, UConn 21

Eric Dungey scored three touchdowns and threw for another as Syracuse route visiting Connecticu­t (1-3) to improve to 4-0 for the first time since 1991 and the fourth since the end of World War II.

Buffalo 42, Rutgers 13

In Piscataway, N.J., Tyree Jackson threw for 263 yards and three touchdowns and Buffalo (4-0) rolled over reeling Rutgers (1-3).

Columbia 23, Georgetown 15

In Washington, Ronald Smith had seven catches for 113 yards a score and Chris Alleyne kicked three field goals to propel Columbia (2-0) past Georgetown (1-3).
