Marcus Semien homered for Oakland, which opened a 7½-game lead over Tampa Bay for the AL’s second wild card. The A’s trail AL Westleading Houston by 3½ games and are 1½ games behind the Yankees, who clinched the first wild card earlier Saturday.

The Braves capped a most surprising season by clinching their first NL East crown since 2013, with Mike Foltynewicz taking a no-hitter into the seventh inning in a 5-3 win over the Phillies in Atlanta.

St. Louis stayed 1½ games ahead of Colorado for the second NL wildcard spot and moved within two games of Brewers, who lost in Pittsburgh, for the top spot.
