‘Goldilocks’ busted in NJ

- By AMANDA WOODS

A modern-day Goldilocks busted into a couple’s New Jersey home while they were away on vacation — sleeping in their bed, gobbling their food and watching their DVDs before taking off in their car, police said.

Dirk McCalla, 29, originally from The Bronx but now homeless, made himself quite cozy in the couple’s house on Engle Street in Cresskill this past week, police told NorthJersey.com.

The unsuspecting pair returned home Tuesday to find their bathroom, bedroom and kitchen in total disarray, WCBS/Channel 2 reported.

“He used a lot of spice, a lot of hot pepper, and the fan was on,” resident Hee Song told the station. “He played with my PlayStation game. He used our computer to see the DVD movies.”

The couple forgot to leave their alarm system on. But Song’s husband, Byung, said he believed the intruder had been “playing’’ with the system, and got scared off just hours before they returned home.

After “playing around’’ with the game, Byung Song, told WCBS, the intruder got into the victims’ car and drove off.

East Rutherford cops arrested McCalla after someone reported that he was driving around in the Songs’ SUV, and going from house to house ringing doorbells, the station reported.

It was unclear how long the vagrant was in the home — but whatever the duration, it was long enough to leave a lasting impression.

“There [were] some difficulties standing in close proximity of him,” cops told the station, adding that McCalla’s “sanitary condition” was a problem.

The couple doesn’t plan to return to their home home until it gets a complete cleaning.

“So bad, disgusting,” Hee Song told WCBS. He said he and his wife were “concerned for our health and we don’t know what kind of condition’’ the intruder was in.

McCalla was charged with trespassing, burglary, theft and receiving stolen property, Sgt. Jason Lanzilotti of the Cresskill Police told NorthJersey.com.
