Stony Brook rolls to big win in CAA
Donald Liotine ran for 170 yards on 27 carries, and his 33-yard touchdown run with 5:27 for Stony Brook (7-3, 5-2 CAA) put an exclamation point on a 17-3 win over visiting Delaware (7-3, 5-2) in a showdown of teams vying for the postseason and the conference title on a wind-whipped Saturday afternoon. The Seawolves rolled up 400 yards of total offense, but still sit behind Maine (6-1 CAA) in the standings.
LOCAL COLLEGES Army 31, Lafayette 13
In West Point, Darnell Woolfolk rushed for 69 yards and two touchdowns, Calen Holt and Kelvin Hopkins Jr. each scored on short runs, and Army (8-2) beat Lafayette (3-7) for its sixth straight win and 12th in a row at home.
Wagner 52, Bryant 36
In Smithfield, R.I., Ryan Fulse had 38 carries for 218 yards and three touchdown and T.J. Linta passed for 167 yards and three scores to propel Wagner (3-7, 2-3 NEC) over Bryant (6-4, 2-4).
Princeton 59, Yale 46
In New Haven, Conn., Collin Eaddy rushed for 266 yards and three touchdowns, and Ryan Quigley and John Lovett each had two touchdowns to lead Princeton (9-0, 6-0 Ivy League) past Yale (5-4, 3-3) to clinch its 12th conference title.
Columbia 42, Brown 20
In Providence, R.I., Kyle Castner accounted for a school record five touchdowns as Columbia (5-4, 2-4 Ivy League) roared back from a two-touchdown firstquarter deficit to beat Brown (1-8, 0-6).
Drake 13, Marist 10
In Des Moines, Iowa, Danny Donley kicked a 24-yard field goal with two minutes left and Will Warner’s third interception of the day off Austin Day sealed the win for Drake (5-3, 4-2 Pioneer League) over Marist (5-5, 5-2). Day passed for 290 yards and a TD to Juston Christian.
Holy Cross 17, Fordham 13
In Worcester, Mass., Geoff Wade threw for 135 yards and two touchdowns and Holy Cross (4-6, 3-2 Patriot League) scored 17 of the game’s final 20 points to rally past Fordham (1-9, 1-4), which got a TD reception from Isaiah Searight.
Kennesaw St. 51, Monmouth 14
In West Long Branch, N.J., Darnell Holland and Chandler Burks each ran for three touchdowns and Kennesaw State (9-1, 5-0, Big South) rolled past Monmouth (7-3, 3-1) as the Owls won their second straight outright conference title. Pete Guerriero and Juwon Farri each ran for a TD for Monmouth, which had won 10 straight at home.
