More than 90 wide-eyed new House members-elect gathered at the base of the Capitol Wednesday for their official photo, including the first Muslim women, the first Native American women and the youngest woman elected to Congress.
The history-making class will join returning representatives to swell the number of women to more than 100, up from 84 in the current House. The new class is also youn- ger, with an average age of 45.5, and more diverse.
“The vibe is new and fresh and dynamic,” incoming Rep. Antonio Delgado (D-NY) told The Post. “We bring a different perspective and different point of view by virtue of the fact that we haven’t been operating in the political [world] in the formal sense.”
