Tech firm puts it in Park (Avenue)

-

For a profitable, New York-based tech unicorn valued at more than $1.4 billion and boasting more than $300 million in annual revenue, an expansion from an 18,000-square-foot home to a 23,000-squarefoot one nearby might not sound like the biggest growth.

But Zeta Global’s new digs at Charles S. Cohen’s 3 Park Ave., where it will move into a single floor this summer, will be much more efficient than its current space at 185 Madison Ave., where the firm has been since it was founded 10 years ago.

“Our old space is on five very small floors, so there’s a lot of waste,” said David A. Steinberg, Zeta Global’s chairman and CEO.

“So this is a huge move for us, going to one entire floor,” he said.

Steinberg, who cofounded the company with former Apple CEO John Sculley — “he’s a little better known than I am,” Steinberg chuckled — noted that Zeta Global serves its clients from 25 worldwide offices, including in London, Silicon Valley and Hyderabad, India.

The New York staff will now enjoy “epic” views from the 33rd floor, Steinberg said, “overlooking the entire city.”

Zeta Global is a datadriven, marketing tech company that helps brands acquire and retain more customers. It’s raised over $250 million in funding since it was first launched in 2007 as XL Marketing.

Zeta Global competes with heavyweights like Adobe, Oracle and Salesforce. It taps into a database of “permission-based” profiles of what Steinberg says are now “750 million global people who have opted in through one of the platforms we own.”

Savills Studley’s Michael Mathias repped Zeta Global but wouldn’t comment on the deal.

Sushi Roxx is out, and Italian-American trattoria Atto will soon be in at the Tuscany Hotel at 120 E. 39th St. Meridian Retail Leasing’s prolific restaurant dealmaker, James Famularo, repped both the tenant and the landlord. The asking rent was $400,000 a year.
