The Real Reason Why Pelosi Nixed Impeachment
THE ISSUE: Speaker Pelosi’s comment that impeaching President Trump is “just not worth it.”
Nancy Pelosi says she is inclined against voting for impeachment because President Trump is “just not worth it” (“Pelosi Blinks,” March 12).
What she really means is that Democrats have investigated everyone and everything even remotely associated with Trump for the last two years and have found nothing close to being impeachable.
The sad truth is that a Democrat could never say that in public without being run out of office.

Pelosi knows we can’t impeach Trump without some evidence of high crimes and misdemeanors, while the radical elements in the Democratic Party think impeachment should begin immediately, as an article of faith.

Lacking any evidence to prosecute the president, Democrats and their me- dia allies continue to persecute him instead. Trump has accomplished much in two years to better the lives of Americans and his re-election is likely.
His political enemies will resort to every dirty trick in their playbook to prevent this from happening.

Your headline is dishonest and unfair. It im- plies she had a confrontation with Trump (or someone else) and backed down.
She never advocated impeachment. You recite her reasons for not advocating impeachment in your editorial. So then why the dishonest, jeering headline?

The plain and simple reason why Pelosi won’t impeach is because there’s nothing that Trump did that warrants it. Pelosi, realizing that this action merely overturns the votes of a good number of Americans, decided that Trump’s “not worth it.”
