DOLLAR BILL

Blas begs for donors — or he won’t even make Dem debate

-

Mayor de Blasio is shaking the cup on Facebook for people to donate just $1 to his campaign — because if he doesn’t get 65,000 individual donors, he won’t qualify for June’s debates.

Queens Democrats are hosting the mayor on Wednesday for a “fireside chat” about his 2020 White House bid — Mayor Pete Buttigieg, that is.

The invitation to what will be the first in a series of town halls means there will be no favored-son status given to Mayor de Blasio, who announced his own long-shot presidential campaign last week.

“This has been weeks in the making before the mayor [de Blasio] even got in to the race,” said an organizer of the event.

De Blasio, the organizer said, doesn’t have a spot on the roster yet.

“Part of this, too, is also bringing folks from outside of the state who maybe haven’t gotten the chance to talk to Queens Democrats,” the organizer said.

Rep. Gregory Meeks (DQueens), chairman of the Queens Democratic Party, is hosting the LaGuardia Community College event.

NY1 anchor Cheryl Wills will interview Buttigieg, the South Bend, Ind., mayor.

Buttigieg (above), who averages fifth place in a crowded field of 24 Democratic contenders, is expected to take audience questions.

A spokeswoman for de Blasio declined to comment.

Meanwhile, the South Bend Tribune has found that Buttigieg has been out of the city he leads 45 percent of the time since February as he runs for president, suggesting de Blasio will be MIA from the Big Apple for long stretches during his own campaign.
