IT’S A COW-A BUNGLE

Grisly end on the lam

Holy cow. A bloody rodeo took place outside a Home Depot in Connecticut after a cow escaped from a nearby slaughterhouse — with one guy trying to stop the animal with a crossbow before a worker slit its throat (above).

The high-steaks chase began last Saturday when the bovine busted free from the under-renovation, halalcompliant Saba meat store in Bloomfield, which keeps livestock on site to be prepared in accordance with Islamic law.

The clueless calf hoofed it across the street to the parking lot of the hardware chain — with worker Badr Musaed and contractor Andy Morrison hot on its tail, according to NBC Connecticut.

Morrison, who was aiding in the remodeling of the store, happened to have a crossbow with him and fired at least one arrow at the moo-ving target — but he missed and it bounced off a wall of the Home Depot, according to the station.

Musaed then whipped out a foot-long knife and slit the cow’s throat as other Saba employees wrangled the animal.

Dash-cam footage of the incident shows the bloody bovine writhing on the pavement in an area behind the Home Depot, much to the dismay of police officers and other onlookers.

After the slaughter, a cop can be heard in the video recording telling Musaed he has a beef with the way the bovine mammal was killed.

“You know this is a big — this is a problem. This is not something that can be done,” the cop says.

A Saba employee replies, “We try to do our best, you know,” to which the officer responded, “OK, but you guys get, like, you get a leash . . . this kid here just watched you slit a cow’s throat.”

The worker fires back: “They come in our store all the time.”

“OK, but we’re not in your store right now,” the officer responds. “You’re in the back of Home Depot!”

Musaed was ticketed for creating a public disturbance.

Morrison was told by police officers that he would have been charged, too, if there had been more people nearby when he fired on the cow with his trusty crossbow.

A police report noted neither Musaed nor his co-workers appeared remorseful.

The Home Depot-adjacent slaughter prompted the closure of the halal store, NBC Connecticut reported.

A worker at the meat market declined to comment on Friday.
