‘Axed for backing prez’

A former Google engineer who supports President Trump claims he is a victim of the tech giant’s systematic “bullying” of rightleaning employees.

Kevin Cernekee was fired from Google in June 2018 — and believes it was because he was an outspoken conservative on internal message boards, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.

“Historically, there’s been a lot of bullying at Google,” Cernekee, 41, told the paper. “There’s a big political angle, and they treat the two sides very differently.”

Cernekee (inset), who was hired in 2015 to work on Google’s laptop lines, says he began ruffling feathers early on — including when he defended a co-worker who suggested the company shouldn’t take race or gender into account in hiring.

“A bunch of people jumped on him and started cussing him out and calling him names,” said Cernekee, who describedbed himself as a Trump supporter.orter.

“And thenn his manager showed up inn the [online] thread and denounced him in public.ic. I was very disturbed byy that.”

Cernekee also once sug-suggested that Google clarify in its employeee handbook what opinionsons are banned so the rules wouldd be clear to conservatives like him.

Human resources issued an official warning to Cernekee for his conduct, which was deemed disrespectful and insubordinate.

He claims he was also targeted by colleagues, including a senior manager who posted that Cernekee was on a “written blacklist” of employees with whom he refused to work.

Cernekee forwarded such messages to HR. One post by a manager said of conservative workers, “Can’t we just fire the poisonous assholes already?” the Journal reported.

Google told the newspaper Cernekee was actually fired for misusing equipment, including its remote-access software, and refused to comment on his allegations.

“We enforce our workplace policies without regard to political viewpoint,” rep Jenn Kaiser said. “Lively debate is a hallmark of Google’s workplace culture; harassment, discrimination and the unauthorized access and theft of confidential company information is not.” Cernekee has filed complaints with the National Labor Relationstions Board and claims to have spent $100,100,000 in legal fees.
