TRAINING DAY

- —Greg Joyce

SAFTEY DANCE

Kenny Ladler was consistently ball-hawking throughout practice. The safety had a pair of pass breakups against Alex Tanney and later intercepted

Kyle Lauletta in the end zone.

NOT IN THE ZONE

During seven-on-seven red-zone drills, the defense had a tough time keeping the offense out of the end zone. The unit gave up three straight touchdowns at one point, which seemed to catch defensive coordinator James

Bettcher’s attention.

KEEPING UP WITH THE JONES

It was another strong day for

Daniel Jones, highlighted by a beauty of a deep touchdown pass to Paul Perkins. The running back ran a wheel route and Jones hit him in stride down the sideline, leading him into the end zone. Jones also flashed his mobility when he found Garrett

Dickerson on a rollout. The rookie finished 12-for-16 with three touchdowns.

CAUGHT MY EYE

During the team’s blitz period, cornerback Julian Love was dropping back as a safety with the first unit as Jabrill

Peppers was up near the line of scrimmage. Versatility will only help Love, a rookie, see the field.

MEDICAL REPORT

Grant Haley left practice early with what appeared to be an arm injury, though there was no immediate update. The cornerback got banged up after diving for a pass breakup. WR Sterling Shepard (thumb) wore a yellow jersey in team drills again. LB B.J. Goodson (hamstring), CB Sam Beal (hamstring), WR Darius Slayton (hamstring), LB Markus Golden (load management), WR Brittan Golden (groin), OL George Asafo-Adjei (concussion), CB Henre Toliver (ankle) and DL Alex Jenkins worked off to the side.
