Weapons could be back for Jones

Eli Manning got benched after a 28-14 loss to the Bills, a game in which the Giants quarterback did not have the services of Sterling Shepard and Golden Tate, his two starting receivers, or Darius Slayton, a promising rookie target.

It looks as if Daniel Jones, the newly inserted rookie quarterback for Sunday’s game at Tampa Bay, will have a stronger supporting cast around him than Manning did last week.

Shepard practiced Wednesday wearing a yellow noncontact jersey and is progressing after missing last week’s game in the concussion protocol.

“He looked good running around,’’ Pat Shurmur said.

Tate has served half of his four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy, so Jones will not be able to throw to him for a few more weeks.

Slayton, a fifth-round draft pick from Auburn, opened plenty of eyes in the summer with his speed and explosive ability as a deep threat, but a strained hamstring forced him to miss the latter stages of the preseason and the first two regular-season games. He returned to practice on a limited basis.

“It felt really good to be back out there, definitely the best I felt in a while,’’ Slayton told The Post. “I ran some fullspeed routes, not really anything vertical down the field so much but I’m sure as the week goes on we’ll get there.’’

Slayton sounded confident he will be able to make his NFL debut this weekend.

“Not too much anxious, right now excited, grateful to play the game and be back on the field, trying to soak up these moments,’’ Slayton said.

Fellow WR Cody Latimer, is in the concussion protocol. RG Kevin Zeitler (shoulder) was held out. ... CB Grant Haley (illness) did not work. TE Garrett Dickerson (quad) was limited.
