Meg puts heat on Harry

She wants out: pal

Prince Harry is “heartbroken” over quitting his senior duties — but wife Meghan Markle pushed for Megxit because palace life just was “not working” for her, according to a report Monday.

The Duke of Sussex, 35, is tormented over the couple’s controversial decision to leave most of their official life behind and start spending more time in North America, a source close to the pair told the Times of London.

“He loves the Queen. He loves this country. He loves all his military stuff. I think it will genuinely break his heart to leave,” the source said of Harry.

“I don’t think that’s what he really wants,” the source added. “He is under pressure. It is sad.’’

But Meghan “wants to leave,” the confidante said. “She thinks, ‘It’s not working for me.’ ”

The couple stunned the world last week when they announced they were stepping down from most of their royal duties, want to be more financially independent and would be splitting their time between North America and the UK.

The move prompted a closed-door summit at Queen Elizabeth II’s private residence in Britain on Monday, after which the monarch reluctantly agreed to the pair’s demands.

But if the Palace thinks there’s a chance that Harry and Meghan will ever return for good to Britain, the Duchess of Sussex has other plans, a pal told the Daily Mail on Monday.

“She doesn’t want to raise Archie there, and she doesn’t want to schlep back and forth,” the friend said. “She’ll make extended visits, but that’s it.”

Archie is Meghan and Harry’s child — and after his birth, she was “miserable’’ living in Britain, the pal said. Meghan “wasn’t sleeping well and started having anxiety attacks about her future.”

The friend said the renegade royal couple is now “looking for a permanent residence in Canada. [Meghan] said she wants a country house in Whistler outside of Vancouver and a home in Toronto.

“What Meghan wants, Meghan gets. This was her plan all along, to eventually leave the UK and build her own empire with Harry,” the pal said.

The queen is said to be upset and bewildered by Harry’s apparent snub of the family, not to mention the very public way he blindsided her, while brother William is furious at Harry and Meghan’s antics and Charles is hurt.
