Actress: Monster tortured my dogs

- Priscilla DeGregory

A Manhattan actress who has appeared in “The Sixth Sense,” “Law & Order” and “The Sopranos” is suing a man she says fatally beat one of her dogs and nearly kicked the other to death.

Janis Dardaris told The Post that she left her Maltese pooches, Frankie and Alex, with a sitter at her Manhattan apartment for two months last fall while she acted in a play in South Carolina.

In a Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit filed on Wednesday, Dardaris alleges that on Oct. 24, 2019, the dogsitter’s boyfriend, Vincent Tang, “savagely beat Alex to death . . . then took Frankie to the roof of [Dardaris’] building, where he sadistically tortured Frankie for several minutes by punching, throwing, chasing and kicking” him.

Tang “then brought Frankie back to [Dardaris’] apartment, where he left him to die,” according to the suit, filed against Tang.

Dardaris told The Post: “The visceral feeling I get when I think of what happened. It feels like an ice pick to my heart. It’s a nightmare.”

Tang, 36, likely took the keys from the sitter and entered the apartment while the sitter was out, said Dardaris’ lawyer, Robert Cannata. Frankie’s life was saved after police found him and rushed him to an animal hospital, the suit says.

Tang has pleaded not guilty to two counts of aggravated animal cruelty, court records show.

His lawyer, Jason Goldman, told The Post, “It’s an open matter, and we look forward to resolving it in court soon.”
