Weird true BUT

Leapin’ lizards — it’s an emergency! A Tennessee teen who was busted for speeding at 107 mph told cops he was in a hurry to get crickets to feed his pet gecko. Jacob Fannon, 18, was clocked zooming along Interstate 26 near Kingsport. He was charged with reckless driving.

It was a ham-fisted political attack. Lawmakers in Taiwan threw pig guts at each other during a fight over a bill to allow pork imports from the US. Things went hog wild after pols from the Nationalist Party hurled hearts and intestines toward Premier Su Tseng-chang, who was scheduled to give a speech about the policy. Other protesters dumped pig parts on the floor of the parliament building.

River otters’ penis strength is sagging due to pollution — no bones about it! Toxic chemicals from the oil industry in Canada have caused the critters’ penis bones to become less dense and more breakable. Researchers at McMaster University looked at the long, curvy bone — known as a baculum — belonging to otters in areas near crude-oil hubs in northern Alberta. They found that otters closer to the oil sites had flimsier phalluses.

What a wild ride. A 36-year-old elephant will be airlifted by plane from Pakistan to a sanctuary in Cambodia to live among four-legged friends. The bull elephant, Kaavan, lived for years alone in a broken-down Islamabad zoo, prompting outrage from animal-rights activists, including superstar singer Cher.

It finally makes cents! A 59-year-old Russian had trouble breathing for decades — until doctors removed a coin he shoved up his nose as a boy. Doctors removed the kopeck after an X-ray revealed it.
