CALL THEM THE GONE ‘SQUAD'

- By JON LEVINE jlevine1@nypost.com

First Lady Melania Trump hasn’t been “in Vogue” — or other fashion magazines — nearly enough, President Trump is fuming.

Not a single major glossy has featured the former fashion model on its cover during her husband’s presidency, prompting Trump to vent on Christmas about the lack of attention.

The president shared a tweet from Breitbart News on Christmas Day noting that, “the elitist snobs in the fashion press have kept the most elegant First Lady in American history off the covers of their magazines for 4 consecutive years.”

By contrast, Michelle Obama reportedly graced at least 12 magazine covers during her husband’s time in office — including three for Vogue alone.

Melania, her husband opined, is “the greatest of all time.”

The apparent snub is still more notable given Melania’s fashion resume.

Unlike her predecessor, the first lady has worked for years as a model, and has long turned to such A-list designers as Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Elie Saab and Ralph Lauren for her White House working wardrobe.

From her first moments in the White House, her fashion choices have wowed critics.

Ralph Lauren’s stock price soared after Melania arrived at her husband’s 2017 inauguration rocking a baby-blue custom ensemble by the designer.

Her silk chiffon, butteryellow, pleated J.Mendel cape gown (left) won raves during a 2018 state dinner in Britain.

Melania Trump, 50, is the second foreign-born first lady in US history.
