NBA: LeBron & Co. beat Warriors

LeBron James scored 19 points, and the Lakers pounded the Warriors 117-91 on Sunday in Los Angeles.

Stephen Curry, who entered the game averaging 29.9 points per game, managed just 16 points, seven assists and three steals. The Warriors lost Draymond Green late in the second quarter with a left ankle sprain.

• In Boston, Jayson Tatum made two twisting, driving baskets in the final 15 seconds and finished with 31 points, leading the Celtics to a 111-110 comeback victory over the Wizards despite 46 points by Bradley Beal.

• In Milwaukee, Giannis Antetokoun­mpo scored 36 points and sparked a closing 9-0 run to help the Bucks rally to beat the Clippers 105-100 for their fifth consecutiv­e victory.

• In Miami, Kendrick Nunn scored 24 points and the Heat extended the NBA’s longest current winning streak to six games by beating the Hawks 109-99.

• The Raptors’ issues with the coronaviru­s have worsened, prompting the NBA to call off their game scheduled for Sunday night against the Bulls.

NCAA: Villanova dropped by Butler

Chuck Harris scored 20 points and Jair Bolden added 15 to lead Butler to a 73-61 victory in Indianapol­is over No. 8 Villanova, which became the sixth top-15 team to lose this weekend.

In Columbus, Ohio, Luka Garza had 24 points and 11 rebounds as No. 9 Iowa bounced back from a midweek loss to take down No. 4 Ohio State 73-57.

GOLF: A ‘last’ing impression

Nelly Korda seized control with three early birdies and finished with 12 straight pars for a 3-under 69 to win the Gainbridge LPGA in Orlando, Fla.

On the other side of the course, Annika Sorenstam wrapped up her return after more than 12 years of retirement with a par on the ninth hole for a 76, finishing last among the 74 players who made the cut.

• In Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, Branden Grace holed out from a greenside bunker for eagle on the par-4 17th and birdied the par-5 18th for a one-stroke victory over Jhonattan Vegas in the Puerto Rico Open.

• In Tucson, Ariz., Kevin Sutherland chipped in for the only birdie of the final round on No. 16 and had a tap-in for another on the next hole, shooting a 4-under 69 to overtake Mike Weir in the Cologuard Classic.

• Phil Mickelson’s bid to win his first three PGA Tour Champions starts came to a halt with a triple bogey on the par-4 ninth. He shot 73 to finish 11 shots back.

ETC.: Kane scores 400th goal

• Patrick Kane scored his 400th career goal and the Blackhawks split a two-game set with Detroit with a 7-2 win in Chicago.

• William Byron continued the 2021 trend of races being won by unlikely drivers with his second career victory coming in the NASCAR Cup Series Dixie Vodka 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway in Florida. Tyler Reddick was second and Martin Truex Jr. was third.
