Sharon & Sheryl: No ‘Talk’

-

IT’S been nearly a week since Sharon Osbourne flipped on Sheryl Underwood for questioning Osbourne’s defense of Piers Morgan after he made controversial comments about Meghan Markle, and the “Talk” co-hosts still have not reconciled.

“Sharon is pissed at Sheryl because she feels like she helped sow a seed that she’s racist, and she’s unable to rationalize that that’s not what happened,” an insider on the CBS daytime show told Page Six.

Osbourne issued a lengthy apology “to anyone of color that I offended,” but did not mention Underwood.

A source close to Osbourne told us she did reach out to Underwood personally: “She texted her a very detailed, emotional and heartfelt apology on Friday. It was very personal. Sheryl did not get back to her.”

Osbourne has since given an interview to Variety in which she lashed out against CBS for blindsiding her with the segment.

But sources told us it was Osbourne who initially wanted to talk about Morgan and Markle on the show: “She was aggressive about supporting Piers on social media and got dragged for it . . . She came to work after being labeled racist on Twitter and asked to address what was going on online. She [was not] blindsided by CBS.”

The insider continued, “Sharon was already hyper emotional, and she was expecting cover from Sheryl, and then she felt attacked. She blames Sheryl. In the post-show meeting, she screamed, ‘I’m getting my lawyers!’ ”

The Osbourne source explained, “Sharon expected maybe two questions, not a 20 minute segment on it . . . For her to get attacked the way she did, it felt very painful.”

CBS announced it is investigating the on-air exchange, in which Osbourne dropped the “F-bomb” twice, yelling, “I can’t be racist. I’m a [bleep] Jew.”

Co-host Elaine Welteroth and her hairstylist have also alleged there is a “racially insensitive and hostile environment” on the show.
