NHL: Bruins win shootout over Devils

The Devils had a two-goal lead in the third period disappear as the Bruins stormed back to record a 5-4 shootout win in Boston Tuesday night.

Charlie McAvoy and Matt Grzelcyk scored fewer than six minutes apart for the Bruins to tie the game at 4-all late in the third period. The Devils’ Travis Zajac scored his 200th career goal early in the second period. The Devils have lost three of their last four games.

In Montreal, Brendan Gallagher and Artturi Lehkonen each had a goal and an assist and the Canadiens, playing for the first time since March 20, defeated the Oilers 4-0. The Canadiens had their last four games postponed due to COVID-19 protocols.

A Jazz charter flight headed to Memphis had to return to Salt Lake City after the plane struck a flock of birds on takeoff. No injuries were reported.

The Jazz confirmed their Delta charter for Wednesday’s game returned to Salt Lake City Internatio­nal Airport shortly after takeoff. Following the incident, several players expressed gratitude for the safe landing. Donovan Mitchell posted a praying hands emoji on Twitter, while Rudy Gobert wrote “It’s a beautiful day!”

Chuma Okeke scored 18 points and the Magic went on a 17-3 run late in the fourth quarter to complete a 103-96 comeback win over the Clippers in Los Angeles and snap the hosts’ six-game winning streak.

In Denver, Jamal Murray scored 30 points, Michael Porter Jr. had 27 points and 12 rebounds, and the Nuggets beat the 76ers 104-95. NFL: Raiders extend LT Miller

The Raiders have agreed to a contract extension with left tackle Kolton Miller through the 2025 season and is worth $68.7 million. The deal was announced by Miller’s agents at Octagon Football.

The Titans have agreed to terms with five-year veteran and former Jets safety Matthias Farley on a one-year contract. Farley spent the past two seasons with the Jets playing special teams and safety.

The Cardinals signed 34-year-old former Giants quarterbac­k Colt McCoy to a one-year deal.
