He’s in Japan, too

- — Michael Starr

Lester Holt anchors NBC’s “Nightly News” from Tokyo starting Thursday (6:30 p.m.) — the 10th time he’s been at the Olympics. “During my time in Japan, I will be under what’s called a ‘soft quarantine’ which will limit my movements but allow me to go out and work at Olympic venues where the news will be made,” he told The Post via e-mail. “I’ll be balancing a lot with my focus on ‘Nightly News’ and ‘Nightly Olympics Kids Edition’ as well as chasing down key interviews . . . . ‘Nightly’ will go live at 7:30 in the morning Tokyo time meaning we're up preparing for the broadcast in the wee hours. I’m expecting lots of fragmented sleep.”
