Meet the Rangers

- — David Lazar

JAYDEN GRUBBE Pick: 65th overall Team: Red Deer (WHL) Position: C (RHS) Age: 18 Height: 6-2 | Weight: 200 Skinny: Named captain of his junior hockey team at 17, Grubbe is considered a face-off specialist who excels on both ends of the ice. He has dealt with injury issues, but is a talented player with a high ceiling. RYDER KORCZAK Pick: 75th overall Team: Moose Jaw (WHL) Position: C (RHS) Age: 18 Height: 5-10 | Weight: 159 Skinny: After trading up five spots, the Rangers selected Korczak — a superb stick-handler with a sneaky shot. He is the brother of 2019 Golden Knights second-round pick Kaedan Korczak.

BRODY LAMB

Pick: 104th overall Team: Green Bay (USHL) Position: RW (RHS) Age: 17 Height: 6-0 | Weight: 161 Skinny: Ranked the 178th-overall skater by NHL Central Scouting, Lamb was a reach for the Rangers. However, the 17-year-old does have an elusive shot, which he balances with efficient playmaking abilities. KALLE VAISANEN Pick: 106th overall Team: TPS (Liiga) Position: LW (RHS) Age: 18 Height: 6-4 | Weight: 181 Skinny: You can’t teach size. And you can’t teach familiarity. At pick No. 106, the Rangers selected the big forward Vaisanen, who is from the same program in Finland (TPS) as the Rangers, 2019 secondoverall pick, Kaapo Kakko. TALYN BOYKO Pick: 112th overall Team: Tri-City (WHL) Position: G (Catches L) Age: 18 Height: 6-8 | Weight: 201 Skinny: There is tall. And there is Boyko. The Rangers snagged a gargantuan tree in net, drafting the 6-foot-8 Boyko, who recorded a .901 save percentage with Tri-City last season and went 7-7-0 in 14 games.
