‘Crown’: Ferg off

-

PRINCE Andrew ’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, offered to be a real-life royal adviser for Netflix hit “The Crown” — but was turned down. The Duchess of York admitted to Town & Country that she wrote to the show’s executive producer to lend insider insight. “I said to him, ‘Why can’t I help [with] my character?’ ” said Fergie, who still lives with scandal-scarred Andrew despite their 1992 split. It’s not the first time she’s tried and failed to use her royal connection to turn a quick pound: In 2010, she was caught in a sting operation offering a fake businessman access to Andrew in exchange for cash.
