Kiss and tell

-

IT’S not often you catch Town & Country editor Stellene Volandes in a fine jewelry faux pas. The fashionable Volandes was seen wearing a $135,000 necklace made by Man Ray called “Les Amoureux” — which features a pair of lips modeled on those of his famed lover, the photographer Lee Miller — at a Hamptons bash, with the lips resting in the middle of her neck. We’re told that an even more inthe-know jewelry connoisseur told her that the piece is supposed to be worn slightly off to the side, so the lips sit on the neck “where a man would kiss you.” Tiffany Dubin and Sotheby’s threw the party to show off the pieces from the auction house’s upcoming “Sculpture to Wear” exhibition. Predictably, it was a Who’s Who of the chic set, with Debbie Bancroft, Candace Bushnell, Essie de Kwiatkowski, Cynthia Frank, Monique Merrill and Jacqueline Schnabel all making an appearance.
