USA Today was typical in covering the committee credulously, saying Capitol Police Officer Harry Dunn “begged lawmakers” to “get to the bottom of what happened.” What the paper doesn’t mention: Dunn’s Twitter posts show him to be a progressive partisan who cheered rioting after George Floyd’s death. “Racism is so American,” he said in a 2019 tweet in which he called Trump “#RacistInChief ” and declared “#IStandWithIlhanOmar.”
