TRAINING DAY

- — Brian Costello

BURSTING OUT

Second-year RB La’Mical Perine (above) showed some burst on Friday, blowing through the line for a long run. Perine has been overshadowed by rookie Michael Carter, but don’t count him out.

SAM HELL

It wouldn’t be training camp if the Jets were not having issues at kicker. Sam Ficken went 2-for-4 on field goal tries Friday and rookie Chris Naggar went 3-for-4. Ficken was waived after practice, and the team signed Matt Ammendola.

CAUGHT MY EYE

Undrafted rookie Isaiah Dunn continues to make plays. He had a nice pass breakup and always seems to be around the ball. He is a sleeper to make the roster.

ZACH WILSON’S DAY

Top pick Zach Wilson was on the field. That was the good news. He looked rusty, which was to be expected. He went 5-for-10 in team drills with an interception and a touchdown in the red-zone period. His throws were erratic and he struggled with accuracy.

MEDICAL REPORT

There were no new injuries Friday. One bright spot on the injury front has been LT Mekhi Becton, who is participating fully after missing the spring with a foot injury. The Jets need to keep Becton healthy.
