Britney Spears is engaged

BRITNEY Spears and Sam Asghari are engaged after nearly five years of dating as her crippling conservatorship is finally being eased, Page Six has confirmed.

“The couple made their long-standing relationship official today and are deeply touched by the support, dedication and love expressed to them,” Asghari’s talent manager, Brandon Cohen of BAC Talent, exclusively told Page Six’s Eileen Reslen.

“Roman Malayev from NYC is the ring designer. He couldn’t be more happier [sic] to be involved and make this a one-of-a-kind ring.”

We’re told Asghari, 27, popped the question at 39-year-old Spears’ home with the 4-carat round brilliant stone in a platinum cathedral setting, enhanced with a floating solitaire design. It has Asghari’s nickname for Spears, “Lioness,” engraved inside the band.

The couple confirmed the news on Instagram Sunday, with the pop star sharing a video of herself smiling while showing off her rock next to her new fiancé.

Rumblings that Spears and Asghari would be getting engaged began earlier this month after personal trainer Asghari was spotted ring shopping at Cartier in Beverly Hills. Then, Asghari’s Instagram account last week posted a photo of a ring with “Lioness” engraved into it. He dismissed the photo as a leak, writing, “Account got hacked . . . calm down everyone!” But it appears the ring was real and he posted it by mistake.

A source previously told Page Six, “Even though they have wanted to take the next step for a while . . . it would be so much easier to do if she weren’t under the restraints she’s under.”

During her bombshell June 23 testimony, the “Stronger” singer told the court that she wanted to marry her boyfriend and have a baby, but the conservatorship wouldn’t allow it. But last week, her father Jamie Spears filed to end her conservatorship that has controlled her life for 13 years, and now she and Asghari can make plans for their future.
