Mugged for her Bible

A callous mugger violently snatched a purse and Bible from a 77-year-old woman on a Queens sidewalk, police said.

The thief hit the woman in the face and ripped her off on 36th Avenue near 21st Street in Astoria at about noon on Sunday.

Surveillance video of the attack shows him aggressively tugging at the victim’s bag until he yanks it free.

The woman suffered cuts to her hands and was evaluated on the scene by EMS but refused additional medical attention.

The mugger ran off after the assault, heading east on 35th Avenue, cops said.

He was still on the loose as of late Monday.
