Praise for Rays over Jays

- By GREG PETERSON Greg Peterson handicaps MLB for VSiN.com, The Sports Betting Network.

The Rays own the AL’s best record despite having had 10 different pitchers make at least five starts this season, and

they will look to Drew Rasmussen to continue his impressive recent stretch against the Blue Jays on Tuesday.

The Rays are 4-1 in Rasmussen’s last five starts. He has allowed one run or fewer in all five starts with no home runs and four walks allowed across 22 innings in this stretch. The Rays back him up with an offense that leads MLB in runs per game (5.42) and entered the series with the AL’s best bullpen ERA (3.32).

Opponents have hit .269 off of Jose Berrios in eight starts as a Blue Jay (up from .213 as a Twin this season).

With the Blue Jays bullpen allowing the fourth-most home runs per nine innings the past 30 days and the Rays leading the AL in home runs per game away from home, Tampa Bay will continue its dominance of the AL on Tuesday.

THE PLAY: Rays, +115.
